Unhappy Cantata( brooktrout) TR1034 fax board to nortel cs1000

Hi all,
I hope someone out there can help me as i dont think my switch vendor
can.
we are trying to connect a tr1034 t1 fax board to a cs1000 t1 card.
the nortel card was working connection to an old att curcuit we got
rid of.

the problem is that we either get a loss of signal waring on the fax
board ( in t1 robbed bit ) or the d channel does not come up when
using isdn or qsig.

I'm SURE someone has done this before !!1

HELP !!!!!!

jeff

" why are you configured for a DCH??? 23b=1d "

huh ???

were not using 24 channels only 8
The board is configured for 8 channels.

I was listing the things we tried.
brooktrouts out of date documentation say to use t1-robbed bit for a nortel system.

I'm server guy playing in telco world

I'm hoping to find someone whose done this before to give me ( and this switch guy) a clue

pls. post your CEQU from your PBX.

you said your Dch doesn't come UP....
it won't unless your FAX card is ISDN and your PBX is ISDN

what is the exact M/N of the brooktrout??
and have you tried a CSU to connect them??

Red face hooking it up

I have done this but a little different options.
I used the TR1000 card to use the IVR app.
I built a T-1 in the PBX used a cross-over cable to connect from the PBX to the Server. I used the standard T-1 build out, ESF/B8ZS Rob Bit signalling and then I also made sure that I was set up for 4 wire EM too. Built the Route and away I went. It used all 24 channels on the T-1. the app may not need all 24 but it was built that way in case it needed them. I also worked with a client who set up an ACD and set up 24 agents.

I'm trying to do the very same thing, I was going to use a line side T1 card but it seems like T1 is the way to go. Just wondering how I cable the T1 card to the Server, do I just slap a Transceiver to the back of the T1 and run Ethernet to the BrookTrout Card? Any help would be appreciated!

there should be a cable that comes with the Card. You will need to convert the 9pin end to the RJ-45 end, then run a cross over cable to the server, unless you are using IDF's along the way. I chose to run direct.
Enable the card and test.
