Trying to keep it nice

Hi,

We just got our new symposium server installed Release 4.2. I'm trying to load the client software on my PC but during the installation check I get a "Sybase" error saying that I can only run one version of Sybase on my computer at a time and if I install symposium client it will over write my other programs use of sybase possibly rendering it useless.

Since I don't know which program on my computer is using sybase located in the C:\Sybase director I'm affraid to install symposium.

Any ideas for a work around on this one?

thanks,

Bill

HELP ( I belive I need AC1 changed )

ok.. we figured out the solution and it deals with Cyrstal Reports using Sybase. Since Symposium also uses Sybase there layed the problem.

We ghosted my computer just incase the Symposium messed any of my programs up and it did once we installed the client. The program that got ruined is used for our predictive dialer Concerto (Formally Davox). We reinstalled everything in this order to get both programs wot work together.

1st I removed the Concerto Software Client
2nd rebooted
3rd Installed Symposium Client and then the supplementarys (rebooted twice)
4th Installed Concerto Software Client (rebooted once)
5th Tested both programs

Since I also program Inter-tel phone systems which use Crystal Reports and (I have that loaded on my P.C too) I'm not sure if all those applications (Oaysis or Call Center Suite) are gonna work yet. I did try to log in the Axxess Database and that worked in conjunction with Symposium. I'm not going to go into great deal on this because I doubt too many people program both Nortel and Inter-tel.

have a great everyone.

Symposium Client Install Sybase error ?

Bill,

I have had Crystal at times conflict with Symposium...I have gone into C:\Nortel\client\en\bin\CRPE32.dll and renamed it CRPE32.OLD and it has taken care of the problem. Just an FYI incase you run into that problem...

ACD for Telethon?

Also, there is a Client Prep (or there is on Symposium 3.0) that will identify conflicts with Sybase and DMI's.....
