CLID with a T1

Is there any way to set the maximum number of callers to a specific line? We run a contest line. When the contest is on, all of our incoming lines get filled up and calls start going to overflow. If I can get it to ring "busy" after X amount of calls to that number, I think this would solve my problem.

..in other words does "all of our incoming lines get filled up" mean that all of your lines from the telco are busy? If that is the case, then any changes have to come from the telco.

It's really an issue of the calls to a specific extension tying up the lines in our pbx. I want our switch to only accept say 6 calls to this number at once. 7th caller should get a busy signal. My understanding is that any external call to one of our DIDs is forwarded to our PBX by the telco company. Our PBX then routes the call to the defined TN. I think as far as the Telco is concerned, they simply forward DIDs - they don't monitor and potentially limit the number of calls to each individual DID.

If it comes to a DID number this is true but if you have the DID # as the primary DN and 5 lines of HUNT with your LHK set to 5 you will get a busy after the sixth call. Simple

Trying to keep it nice

I think LHK only works on digial phones (LD11)

The DN is a phantom line which direct call forwards to Call Pilot. I have setup Call Pilot so the app connected to this DN only accepts 6 calls. The 7th caller hears ringing until one of the 6 allotted callpilot connections becomes open - then voicemail allows them in. I would prefer that the phone give them busy instead of just ringing because people are hanging onto the line until they get through. I'm pretty sure Call Pilot can't do this, I was hoping it could be done for a phantom TN on the switch.

A little story

I also assumed if you restricted a Call Pilot Application to x number of callers, the x+1 would receive busy...but I guess I'll have to go back and revisit this.
