Location: Missouri Rep Power: 8 ![]() | Revert DN Announcement We are implementing a new auto-attendant application and setting up a directory search using "Dial by Name". The exec testing this app used the keypad to begin typing the last name of the a person who happens to not be in the directory. As designed the system finds another person whose name matches the keystrokes entered. The problem is that there is no prompt to confirm that this is the person you really want. I don't know any way around this, and the exec is not happy with this situation. I believe if you have more than one name matching there will be a menu of some type listing the similar names. Is there a fix for this, or as I surmise, "Its not a bug, its a feature"?

Location: Kansas City Rep Power: 8 ![]() | Type MMSN DN ???? when I call my night menu and I dial by name it looks for the unique name and then says the name if it is recorded or it spells it all out if they did not do the personal verfication. In the case of Smith, I have several. If I wait after spelling out Smith CP comes on and says it found three with that spelling and press # to hear the list.

Location: Missouri Rep Power: 8 ![]() | Call forward External Number My example: User spells out the name "johnson". I don't have any entries with the last name Johnson in my VM directory. I do have an employee with the last name "Koga" in the VM directory. After spelling out the first three digits (564), the system makes the assumption that I am dialing Koga. CP does not confirm the selection if there is a single matching entry in the directory; it goes off and transfers the call to this person anyway. What my exec wants is CP to confirm the selection, even if there is only one matching directory entry. [Edited on 5/5/2003 by telecom116]

Location: Missouri Rep Power: 8 ![]() | Ring to busy after X number of calls to one line Thats what I surmised. I'm going to bring this up at the Messaging SIG at INNMUG. Another little item is that I can't have multiple directory listing only entries in CP sharing the same phone number. For example, I have two receptionists who each work every other week and share the same phone number. CP won't let me have entries for both.
