ITG Jitter Buffer Stats?

I HAVE A MER MAIL SYSTEM RLS. 11. 2 NODES. I'VE RECENTLY NOTICED THAT THE TOTAL NUMBER OF MAILBOXES IN NODE 1 IS 240 AND IN NODE 2 IS 550. IF YOU ADD A MAILBOX THE DEFAULT VOLUME ID IS NODE 2. YOU CAN CURSER UP AND CHANGE IT TO NODE 1. OUR PROGRAMMER JUST ADDS A MAILBOX AND IT HAS BEEN GOING INTO NODE 2 FOR QUITE SOME TIME. DO THESE NEED TO BE BALANCED? CAN YOU CHANGE THE DEFAULT VOLUME ID TO VS2 (NODE 1), WHEN YOU SELECT ADD? I HAVE ANOTHER REMOTE SITE THAT HAS MAIL ONLY 1 NODE. YET 858 MAILBOXES. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT WHY THERE ARE 2 NODES HERE. TO ENGINEER MER MAIL INTO 2 NODES WOULD YOU NEED MORE HARDWARE OR COULD YOU JUST FORMAT THE SOFTWARE FOR IT?

Securit Question on Mer. Mail

Yes, you should program 1 mailbox to the new volume and it should automaticall start putting new mailboxes into the volume used last. YES, you need to rebalance.
You have 2 nodes because of the amount of ports you have. You need 2 separate processors to handle the traffic on that amount of ports, and so you will need , 2 different drives to support the 2 processors. The volumes and managed differently in multi node systems than single node. Call your vendor to have them go into the tools utility and "move the mailboxes" over to the other volume. This is kinda touchy, so have them do it late at night to avoid corruption. When they finish balancing the system, do a few FULL backups, and you shouyld be set.
