the settings in the i2004 it is 100 mpbs and autonegotiable
and in the data switch port aslo it is 100 mbps .Auo negotiable.

The formware version of the i2004 is 0604d88
and it is phase 2 ,release nuber is 0x02

and when i print the prt zone in ld 117

It is likely not the cause of your problem but D88 is ancient as far as IP Phone firmware is concerned. The latest release is DAD.

While you are at it, make sure that you have all appropriate PEPs installed.

I have created the new zone (zone 1)
and added the i2004 to zone 1 and same zone 1 is configured in the ld 14 .

the set i2004 settings made full duplex and 100mbps
in the data switch port made as full duplex 100mbps

still one way speech.

but i observed one thing if i press the hold key and unhold then the two speech path is established.

hey we had a problem like... 2 cs1000s in a nw and analog phones (only analog phones) from one 1000s cannot call any phones in the other 1000s. Finally the issue was found to be zone config. As they say zone 0 is not a recommended config. Ntp says config zone 0 at FIRST and dont use it.
dont ignore zones....
one way speech path ...could be wrong gw add in the ip phone
or check with M1 geeks for patches

Which way is the audio you're getting? The i2004 can hear the TDM, or the TDM can hear the i2004?
I'd like to know also an example of the VLAN and IP config for your network (i2004, i2050, Media Gateway, etc.). We had the same problem once, where the default gateway didn't know where to route packets when going to a different network from a specific subnet, hence getting one-way audio.

Thumbs up

I found out the problem , it was with VLAN config in the i2004 phone

when i gave the VOICE VLAN yes in i2004 and entered the VLAN id which is same as what we have given in the dataswitch port in the dataswitch( nortel 8300) for that port .

but there is 1 to second delay is there before the speech path

As ThePelado said it was with Vlan , we also had the same problem.

But my question is why there is separate VLAN (which is mentioned as data vlan in i2004), but i have entered the data switch vlan ID in the voice vlan of the i2004 and it is working fine.

why we require two diffrent V-lan's (like voice V-lan , data v-lan)

Vlans are created to split Broadcast domain. I believe u know the multiple access scheme used by ethernet - CSMA/CD, and its good to have Vlans in a CSMA environent - for higher throput from the NW.
Broadcast from data equipments will not middle with voice traffic and similarly Broadcast from Voice equipments (SS & MC) will not middle with data traffic.
Ntp says we can achieve higher security by having 2 vlans - voice and data.
Tagging the packet with voice lan id (seperate vlan) and setting the value for priority bits in the tag are essentials when we talk about IP telephoy.

Seniors can correct the post.

Interesting... been having the exact same issue with a few users. The network is setup with VLANs for both voice and data etc etc etc.

That means we need to create one more V-LAN in the dataswitch which is dedicated for voice . And do i need to add the Signalling server ip in that VLAN , currently the Siganlling Server under the server VLAN group in the dataswitch.
