CDR corrupt database in OTM

If I have to re-install OTM am I going to lose all the call records I have archived? Or are they going to be OK?

On the Collection side I get the following error:
An error occurred while writing CDR records to the CDR database. The database may be corrupt. The Collection task was shut down.

On the Costing side I get the following error:
An error occurred while writhing a Cost record to the Cost table. Costing can not continue. The DAO error is: Database reached maximum size. ErroerCode:3036.

Thoughts.......

What version of OTM are you using?

Things to look at:

Database size. When the Call Database reaches 1,000,000+ records, corruptions can take place.

Have you done a compact and repair on the databases recently. I find that doing this monthly along with archiving helps eliminate database problems.

I had the same problem about 2 years ago. I'll try to remember what we did to fix the problem. I know under the folder nortel\common data\site name\system name there are two files. CDRD001 and CDRU001. I beleive that these are the two files that you need to mess with. I'll check back if it comes to me.

good luck.

We had a similar problem here a month ago. we back up our files nightly and export the data files every 3 months to try and prevent coruption but in this case there was a file that was just growing. It had nothing to do with the actual data but was a catch for some function of the application. The vendor we use helped us replace the file with a clean copy and all is fine now.

If my tech can remember the name of the file, I'll post it.

We are running 2.20. I did see the file that has 1,000,000+ records. I will need to get in that and archive some and I hope that will clear things up.

Hey John,
Your on the right track. Run an archive and purge on your oldest data. And then the compact and repair. That should get you collecting data again.

I found the file that has all the records in it, CDRD001.MDB
Issue: I do not have Access loaded on that system to open that file and delete any unused record. Or can't I do that?

I don't recommend doing that. In TBS, look under File/Call Database and select Archive. This will open a window that allows you to archive and purge data. I would archive from say 01/01/2000 to 08/31/2006. This will leave you with about two months of data. Don't forget to select the "purge after archive" box. Give the file a unique name. This will save your data in a csv file outside of the reporting database, reduce your CDR0001.mdb file size and allow you to restore the data back into the CDR databse if you so choose in the future.
Good luck.

Right now if I go into File/Call Database I have no records in there. I have them all archived into csv files. When I try to restore any of records back into the database I get an error that says "Database has reached maximum size." I need to reduce or move the CDRD001.mdb so I can get the detail.img to dump into the Call Database field.

Found out what we did.

We re-named the CDRD001 and re-started OTM. The application automatically re-created the file and our problem went away.
