Option 11C

I have a single cabinet Option 11c. I installed an analog line card in slot 8 and prorammed up the first four slots on the card for use as Fax lines. But when I go to the block there's no dial tone. If I push the buttons on the phone I get DTMF tones and I do have side tone (or Battery). Anybody have any ideas what I've got wrong? I have tried a known good card in it's place but still get the same thing.

Thanks,
MrClean61

I just did PP and it says the 4 stations on the card are idle. But there's no dial tone on those stations at the block. What am I doing wrong? I feel like I'm missing something in programming but I'mm not sure what it is. When I take the card out it runs it's test cycle and blinks three times like it should. Then the red LED goes out. But no dial tone. What am I missing here?

Thanks,

MrC, Something else to look for. Do an IDC 8 in LD 32 and see if the processor is actually seeing the card in the slot, Also, make sure that your switch pigtails are connected in the correct places, and that you are checking for DT on the correct cable,

No Dial Tone

Is this your only analog line card in the system?
If it is, and you set the CLS on the 500 ports to DTN, do you have any DTR's defined in the system?
If there are no DTR's available, you will not get dial tone if the stations are DTN.
The DTR's are part of the core card and should be programed as TN's 0-0 through 0-7.

Are you sure that the card is in the slot that you programmed the phones on? If it is in the wrong slot it will still self test and have battery.

The system is a single cabinet. I have the card in slot 8 and the cable connected to J8. The DTRs are programmed in 0-0 thru 0-8. The cls is for DTN for the sets. Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Password recovery on an Option 11

AND I SUPPOSE YOU HAVE NO OTHER SLOTS IN THE CABINET, MY SUGGESTION IS TO OUT ONE OF THE SLOTS AND MOVE THE CARD TO SEE IF IT'S THE SLOT

Door Phone question

Did the switch print out the card type, vintage, and serial number when you id an IDC on card 8, if not, your processor isn't seeing the card, try PP's suggestion and put in in a different slot
