Dialing 4 goes to wrong number

Hello. When users call into our main line, hitting 4 should go to our HR but it goes to a different phone. I've been looking everywhere in our OTM Navigator (v 2.20) and can't find where to change these types of settings. Any kind of help would be GREATLY appreciated. Apologies if I'm in the wrong section of the forums.

Hi PP. Apologies for my lack of knowledge in this. What do you mean exactly by some type of mail?

I may be way offbase with this but, check the phone that is supposed to be ringing when you call 4. Someone may have forwarded it to another number and never removed the forwarding.

Thanks for your replies. I'll look into callpilot and let you know. The phone is not forwarded.

Ok I looked through callpilot and saw some Dept #'s (ie 8001 for finance, etc etc). There was no HR one. When I call our main line from within the office and hit 4, my Nortel phone shows 7000-9 for a quick second then it shows the number that's wrong 646-xxx-xxx7 when it should be 646-xxx-xxx8. Not sure if this helps any with diagnosing the problem but I'll keep looking in callpilot for more. Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

Go inside your Callpilot Manager and look and your SDN tables and find your main number. This should show you what application your main number is using. Go into that application using Application Builder and check your Voice Menu block, under option 4. It should be a Call Transfer block. Check the properties of that block and see if it is dialing a 'Specific' DN. Change it to dial the specific DN you want it to dial.

I tried doing a search for our main number but couldn't come up with it. SDN = Shared Distribution list/numbers? Either way, I tried to open Application builder but got the message that it is not installed on my machine. Maybe the fix is done another way? Thank you very much for your assistance so far.

You need app builder to be able to navigate your voicemail menu trees.

What is happening is
when someone calls your main line
Call comes in ---->Voicemail picks up>>>>Starts to read the menu option:
Press 1. Goes Here
Press 2. Goes There
Press 3. Goes Here
Press 4. ...xxx7

App Builder is what lets you create that menu, it is a gui interface
See this thread, to give you an example of what app builder looks like:
http://www.pbxinfo.com/forums/showth...ht=app+builder

As you can see by that picture, there is a diagram that lets you assign numbers to each of those options. What you need to do is update the number for whatever option your having a problem with.

So if Option 4 is going to the wrong number, you will need to go to that menu and find option 4, then find the box that connects to it, and update the number in there.

If that is how your calls are being answered that is what your going to need to do.

Good Luck!
