Cool Problems with IP 1120E phones

We have a new site with an IP branch office installed in April 06 and we are experiencing a lot of problems with 1120E phones. The trouble being reported is incoming calls are going to handsfree and can't be answered on the handset.

Changing out the set is not a big deal on digital phones but with IP we have to keep re-assigning the new MAC to the IP address. Is anyone else experiencing problems with Nortel IP phones?

When you get the condition where the audio will only go to the handsfree, pickup the handset and give the phone a slight tap right on the Nortel Logo.

If you then get audio in the handset, you have a faulty hookswitch spring. Contact your distributor to get this set replaced.
