Don't hold your breath waiting for an answer from Nortel...you might die of asphyxiation.

As one of the above posters noted, Nortel was "supposed" to have an updated page on their website (http://www130.nortelnetworks.com/go/...extid=dstInfo). As of this morning, this page has not been updated and is totally useless.

Thanks for the warning - I was thinking of doing just that.

Luckily they have a few more months to figure it out... or EOL / retire the software and tell us we have to upgrade.

But first, Nortel has to come up with a solution for those of us that started out with CP 1.05/6 and the 200i platform. I believe the 201i is MD and "supposedly" there was supposed to be a small rackmount server solution. Of course, I can't find that document on the NT website - or, for that matter, any of the CP/CS1000 lifecycle roadmaps.

Below is a link to what Microsoft recommends be done for the new DST.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/914387

Has/will Nortel respond to this MS article? Regarding Symposium Servers, I assume we will not go through this procedure since SCCS 5.0 gets its clock from the PBX, correct? What about the Symposium Web Server 4.5 and Call Pilot 3.0? Should we run through the procedures described in the article for them.

Normaly in CP ans SCCS systems whe shut off DST changes because it syncronizes with the M1 or CS1000 over the ELAN.

Don't know for Web Server, check if DST is checked ON, if NO it will synch probably with SCCS, otherwise i guess you need the MS solution.

After a little investigation, I have determined that the Symposium Web Server 4.5 is not synchronized with the PBX clock.

Per the technical bulletin (doc id 2007007636), "...SCCS servers update their internal clocks based on timestamps received from the attached Call Server via the AML protocol."

Unfortunately, my pbx clocks have recently been synched and they're within 1 or 2 seconds of the symp. servers. So I can't verify without changing either a server clock or a pbx clock which would require an approval from the pope during hours. That, and I had to give up my nortel phone due to voice port limitations at my desk. (I just have the cisco phone which only won out because of the hub port.)

Can anyone confirm or deny what Panchanka is seeing.

thanks,
Will

FINALLY, a Bulletin covering Call Pilot, CP Mini and MerMail.

However, I do have a question on the following statement - What is a TUI?
Quote:
CallPilot systems connected to the CS 1000 receive their time from the CS 1000 via the AML link. Consequently, adjustments to their internal clocks is not required for changes to Daylight Savings Time (DST). When Extended DST starts March 11, the message header time stamp for users in the same time zone as the server will be correct via a TUI. However, the time stamp of messages, in systems without the Extended DST patch, will
be off by one hour in other contexts. Contexts include:
1. Desktop messaging inbox view
2. the Network Message Service time zones feature

CallPilot systems connected to SL-100/DSM-100 do not receive their time from the switch. Their internal clocks are supplied by the Windows OS.
Which they don't support anymore... GREAT!!! Sounds like a OT opportunity.

Is there a way to sync the NT boxes to a NTP server?
