Cool Need way to make modems dial w/o dialing 9

Is there a way to program a set of modems (analog ports) so they don't have to dial a 9 to access the outside?

We are upgrading our IrisNGen server with DIVA cards which means the circuits that go straight to the server wont need a 9 to dial out. The phone numbers will just be 10 or 11 digits.

We use a specialized application to dial remotely into PBX's through our desktop that access USR modems attached to our PC's. This application polls the SQL database for the phone number and sends it to the local modem to dialout to troubleshoot alarms.

Since these modems are hooked up to the PBX on analog ports, they require the use of a 9 to dialout.

There are apporx 25 analog ports that I need to configure so you don't have to dial a 9. The switch assumes you want an outside line.

Is it a COS thing? Need a little programming help to get this working.

Running 25.40b on an Optioon 61C.

Pretranslation tables... basically a speed call list as a XLST that inserts the AC in front of every dialed number.

OK, let me see if this would be correct.

Build a speed call list with the digit 9.

Setup a Pretranslation group to access that speed call list.

Add the XLST # to the set.

If I send 1-555-555-1212 from that set it dials 9,1-555-555-1212?

Would that be the correct procedure for programming?

Yeah pretty much. If you don't have pretranslations set I think you need to adust a few prompts in either the CDB or the Config1... I forget but it will SCH you with the info if you don't have it configured.

Once configured it will add the XLST prompt to every station so if you have TMS that looks at station database it might need to be updated.

This isn't a insert 9 xlst... but it could be. (Don't ask what it's there for)

This is what I programmed. I turned it on in LD15.

I added XLST 1 to the analog set and tried to dial a number and it does not add the 9 before it dials.

What did I do wrong?

Like this...

DNSZ 12
STOR 0
STOR 1 91
STOR 2 92
STOR 3 93
STOR 4 94
STOR 5 95
STOR 6 96
STOR 7 97
STOR 8 98
STOR 9 99

If the system sees a number leading with 4 it will absorb the 4 in the SCL and insert 94 in front of the remaining digits, etc, etc, etc.

I think...

Send a message via MSN to TomasSouth
For suggestion, try to avoid to use XLST 0 and XLST 1, as I know there were special for something. I could not explain easily, but I know I read it somewhere in the NTP.

Well, it is your choice, just a tip...

xlst 0 is used by trunk
xlst 1 is used by attendant console
and those two (trunk and console) are not programmable
so better start from 2.....3 etc

I was viewing these posts old & new .. & just saw this as dialing without 9 or access code ..
& I guess that's the exact soloution .. but what if the user wants to call internal call ?? he has no other alternative except to dial out & the excluded digits !!
any way ..VZTech .. you made an effort .. helped that guy ..
good luck .. & keep goin ...
