Cool Analog Terminal Adapter for 2616 Question

Just got a ATA NT2K68AA (I think that's the P/N). Can't for the life of me figure it out even with the instructions. When it's all finished, the doc says the LED on the back should flash indicating power. I get nothing. Oh Yeah. Just like I knew what I was doing, I bought 3 and get the same result from all 3. I set the l s c u +16 from the M2616 TN that the ATA is connected to, set CLS to FLXA VCE CPTD.

I've looked over the forum for any threads on the sub and found very little discussion which leads me to question if this is worth it?

Your thoughts please

Thanx

td

Did you hook up the AC power adapter? AND use a 6 pin silver satin from the wall?

Well? I have A power supply with a DIN connector I've attached. Could you tell me the significance of using 6 pins instead of the standard 2? I've seen the type for non-TypeII sets for an AOM power feed back from the wall. Is this what I'm supposed to use?

I am assuming that you have the phone set analog adapter. With the adapter that goes in between the phone and the wall. The power rides on the pins 5/6. If you do not have a 6 wire silver satin//////????

ATA for M2616 installed-working!!

I guess if you rip, tear and bang around on something long enough you figure it out. To begin with, the M2616 ATA came with a wall transformer that has a 5-pin mini-DIN plug connecting directly to the ATA board - not through a 6 wire phone cord. It is the type of set I was working with that gave me the trouble. Not sure if this is a proper ID method as a rule but the sets with 1/2 a PC board with the keypad separate work. Those that have one board throughout the width of the phone and has the squiggle keypad traces on the flip side don't. I believe these are considered Type II sets. I went to our stock room, grabbed 5 sets and tried in each. When I found one that worked, I took the backs off of it and one that didn't and made this rather un-technical observation.

Thanks for the effort though, aiken!

M2616 Ata

Hey telcoDave,
I'm having the same problem.
The ATAs I received didn't come with any documentation. So I gathered in the NTPs that I need to config the lower TN 0-15 with CLS FLXA DTA and the upper TN 16-31 with CLS FLXA VCE.
This results in numerous SCH codes, and I'm having a hard time getting around it.
I opened up the set and it has the half board separate from the keypad.
Do you have a link to these docs?
P0872256 Analog Terminal Adapter Installation Sheet
P0872254 Analog Terminal Adapter Quick Reference Card
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
John
