Unhappy hi, new tech here need help on building ext.

not sure if this is right place to ask,but if you can help id appreciate it.

Im trying to build an ext. on our pbx, the procedure im doing is under LD20
example:
cpy 1
500/2616
TN
new TN

then when it asks for the DN it wont let me use any number under 2400-2500, wich i need to make ext.'s using 2401,2402, ect...

any other number would work execpt those, any reason why?

if you need more information on what im doing and equiptment please let me know, thanks!

When using the cpy command the DN has to be unique.

Do you have existing extensions in that range? If not, there is probably a conflict with some other feature in your numbering plan of your PBX. Also, do you get any errors or system messages?

If this is the issue, you can use LD 11 to print a number in that range to see how it is being used.

req: prt
type: dnb
cust:
dnb: 24xx

there is no 24xx ext's being used on the system

when i put in the DN 24xx it says: SCH3300

Also when I tried useing a dummy ext. like 1400 it worked, so i tried to do a change and make the 1400 into a 2400, but it wouldnt work either it gave me a SCHO371

some reason it wont take anything in the 24xx

Im getting the same problem at another site, but this time its 19xx that it wont take. I have no idea why.

Thanks for the replys

19 is the start of the standard SPRE code. I'd bet it's the same issue at the first site..24 being used as a SPRE or other feature code.

I think you first need to PRT out the DN that are available on your system in LD 20 by:

REQ: PRT
TYPE: LUDN
CUST (what ever the number is 0,1,2 etc.)
DN ( press enter)

(all the available DNs will be displayed here, choose one of these and use in your earlier effort).

The errors you are receiving clearly indicate that the range is in use somewhere.

SCH3300- DN is invalid and must be unique
SCH0371- Shorter directory number already exists.

240 is a CDP DSC entry.

These are used to route calls off of your switch.

Print out in LD 87.
