Keep Message Length in Call Pilot

Got a questions,

Is their a setting that allows users to keep their messages for an additional x days?

Right now when a user has a message on the box for over x amount of days, it will get auto deleted, if they want to keep it, they have to manually hit restore, but this message is every day. Is there a way to change that to like every week or month?

Does this make any sense?

Why not just lenghten the number of days you let user keep messages? The large amount of storage makes this more practical than with MerMail. If users really want to keep messages for a long time how about giving them desktop messaging. That way they can move messages to their own harddrives and keep them as long as they like.

That would make sense to me but the place I am working needs some kind of new feature. (I had suggested the same thing) but the response was if the system could do something different. Oh well.

I said it wasn't possible and that they need to change the class of service to let them have bigger mailboxes.

That would be a good use of Unified Messaging. I will bring that up with them as well.
