I know there is a way to make a message a wav file but for the life of me can not remember the steps.

Open a message and go to file... save as... The default settings is *.vbk but there should be a drop down box and here is were you will be able to save as a *.wav file.

Post back if your still having problems.

Sorry, What I meant to ask was is there a way to pull th message from the client or server without desktop messaging?
