Succession 3.0 VoIP Issues.

There was a thread on here recently in which a member commented that they had been having a few issues with VoIP on a Succession 3.0 system and the Nortel solution was upgrade to 4.0 / 4.5... naturally I can't find this thread and the issues weren't the main topic of the thread.

Now that we have a few VoIP projects on the horzion hosted from a 3.0 system I'm curious as to what some of the issues are that I might come across that required an upgrade to solve.

I would like to keep this thread focused on issues and not features, I'm well aware of additional features avaliable with newer software thanks to the Nortel sales team camped out on our door step.

I have 3.0, centrally located and distributed across the network to 2 of my branch locations. One branch has a BCM 50 on one end, while the other is total VoIP across the net. Users that have IP phones also share the network connection to their pc, less patch cables in the IDF the better imo. So far (knock, knock) no issue 3.0 related. The only issue I had was not enough keycodes on the BCM and 61 side. Phones are I2004's and I have not heard one complaint yet regarding QOS or call degration.

In April 2006, Nortel released new Signaling Server/VGMC software for CS 1000 3.0. Among other things, this up-issue added some echo cancellation enhancements to improve performance.
