ACD to Voicemail

I have an opt11c

I am trying to setup an ACD to go directly to VM. The purpose of this is for departed employees. I want to have a general mailbox, that will give a greeting telling people that the employee is no longer employed by the firm along with alternate contact information. I would also like this box to not accept messages. I have created a voice mailbox. I set the setting to YES on Message Reception Disabled.

My thoughts were to do the following:
OUT the employees phone
Create a new ACD set using their DN and have it automatically go to the new mailbox.

Is this the best way to do this or can someone recommend an easier way. We are not a large firm and once an ACD is created for a departed user, it will be removed after 90 days.

I am not very knowledgable in the PBX area, but do handle all of the move, adds or changes to the phones.

Out their phone and use the DN to create a 1 position ACD queue. NCFW that queue to your voice mail system. If you have MerMail, I would out the mail box and just build an Announcement Service. Add the new ACD queue number to the VSDN table and assign your new AS 'announcement service' to that DN.

See if that helps any.

Or...

Set up a phantom DCFW'd to the new voice mail announcement and out the old number. Then setup an IDC table of the old number pointing at the phantom.

One additional thought,

You might have a limited number of ACD DN's to work with depending on your switch and it's keycodes. You might want to study how to create phantom DN's for the purpose of redirecting inbound calls to voicemail. Out the users DN, create a phantom DN of the same number, use FTR DCFW XXXX to forward to the voicemail system, create the annoucment in mermail.
You can have a whole bunch of phantoms, but limited ACD DN's
