TN outed every night

Right now I am about as confused as a termite in a Yo Yo. I have a phone located at the front gate of our complex that is being outed every night by the PBX. (The problem began after a lightning storm about 9 months ago and gets worse any time there has been any rain...) The buriable cable runs from the gate to another building about 1100 feet away before being patched into a 200-pair cable going to the shelf which is located in yet a third building. It an effort to solve the problem I have:

replaced the phone,
replaced the cable to the wall jack,
tried a different TN,
tried a different cable pair to the shelf
installed lightning protection and grounding at each end of the cable,
and finally (yesterday) replaced the 8yr old buriable Cat-5 cable with 1100' of new CAT-3 cable.

AND THE TN IS STILL BEING OUTED!!!!

Do any of you experts have any idea what I should try next? I have a Procomm script scheduled to run every morning to re-enable the TN but my boss isn't going to be happy about spending $1900 to replace the cable than that not solving the problem....

Is it outed or disabled?

I manually enabled it again this morning and I think it said that the status was DSBL. I didn't know that there was a difference between the two.

yep.... so its a 2000 set??? the midnite routine is taking it out of service, change it out with a 500/2500 set better than changing all that cable

To be specific, it is a 2008 - and I've already replaced all the cable.... LOL

I can't replace it with a 500 as I need some of the features that the 2008 offer.

I just took care of it. (I'm a trusting sort and did it before researching to see what it meant. Will telling the PBX that this TX is a Voice Terminal and that Flexible Voice / Data is allowed keep it from being outed?)

Yep, this will stop the set from being disabled in midnights.

More of a work around than a fix, obviously the switch does not like something about that connection but it sounds like you've changed just about everything already.

Wonder if the cable length is exceeded and the switch does not quiet see it properly. We have a couple of sets that are almost half a mile away from the swtich and have had similar issues though not every night. We change pairs and they work fine. I am thinking noise on the line (faulty cabling), enough that the phone is not seen when poked in the midnights as they work once enabled.

Maybe remove 30 and 32 in DROL of LD 17 OVLY so in midnight routine it will not try to disable digital phones that cannot be detected. But I know removing 30 is enough.
