Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I went through the first steps in LD 90 and this is what I found: REQ PRT CUST 0 FEAT NET TRAN AC1 TYPE SPN SPN 411 SPN 411 RLI 0 SDRR NONE ITEI NONE Since I do not have a SPN of 411, do I need to follow the 2nd and 3rd parts of the instructions or do something different? It woudl probably help if I knew the meaning to the following terms: SPN, RLI, DMI, and RLB

Location: Chicago -- CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE Rep Power: 12 ![]() | But you do have an SPN (Special Number) of 411 as shown in your results. I would change the order of the instructions to be - Build the new DMI (Digit Manipulation Index) as shown. Build the new RLI (Route List Index) including the new DMI. Chg the 411 SPN to use the new RLI you created and test, test, test. __________________ Dogs rollover Phones hunt

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I'm doing my best to understand how all this works based on total lack of training and reference material and relying only on what you guys have written here. It's almost like learning a new language - I'm not only trying to understand what you're telling me to do - I'm also trying to learn the meaning of all the nouns and verbs... LOL If my understanding of this while procedure works is correct, I am assuming that the PBX will watch for someone to dial "9" for an outside line and then watch for them to dial "411". If they do, the PBX will route them to a RLI where they are told by the DMI settings where to direct the call. Do I have that right? Pardon my ignorance but do I choose a RLI and DMI number at random or is there somewhere in the PBX where I should look for numbers that are already in use so I don't screw something up. Also, what about the route - I know nothing about that.... Does anyone know if the MerAssistant software would allow me to perform tasks such as this? Location: Chicago -- CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE Rep Power: 12 ![]() | Check out this site one of the best Nars/Bars sites I've seen -- http://www.ghtrout.com/ghtrout/bars/index.html To your questions -- Your on the right track, 9 is your AC1 (Access Code 1) which sends the dialed digits to Bars/Nars within the switch's software. From there Bars/Nars does a lookup of the digits dialed and if the caller has permission (CLS, NCOS and FRL come into play here -- another topic altogether) to access the routes contained in the RLI and decides if any digit manipulation is required (hint DMI 0 is default and does not do any digit manipulation). It then sends the call on its way. What will happen in your situation is that the system will see 9+411 and discard the 411 (delete 3 -- note system automatically deletes the 9) and outpulse the 1800xxxyyyy number to the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network aka your carrier) that you have in the INST prompt of the DMI. Clear? The correct way to pick out your new RLI & DMI numbers is to print out what is already in your system and then use the next unused number. As far as the route is concerned it will most likely be route 0 (which your 411 is already using). The correct way to find out is to print your spn of 1800 to see what route you are using. Check out the site I listed above and this should start to make more sense. Post back with questions. Jack __________________ Dogs rollover Phones hunt

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | According to what I just printed, here is what I currently have: SPN 1800 RLI 0 SDRR NONE ITEI NONE Where do I go to print our the RLI and DMI settings? On a different note - has anyone here used MerAssistant 2.0 and do you know if it will let me perform tasks such as this? I'm working hard to get my boss to purchase it for our company as it will not only save me time but allow me to do much more with the PBX than I am knowledgable enough to do now....

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I couldn't get the PBX to PRT the DMI. I got the following: REQ PRT CUST 0 FEAT DMI ESN009 I did, however, PRT the RLB and discovered that I have a RLI of 0, 1, and 10: FEAT RLB RLI RLI 0 ENTR 0 LTER NO ROUT 10 TOD 0 ON 1 ON 2 ON 3 ON 4 ON 5 ON 6 ON 7 ON CNV NO EXP NO FRL 1 DMI 0 FCI 0 CBQ NO ISET 1 RLI 1 ENTR 0 LTER NO ROUT 10 TOD 0 ON 1 ON 2 ON 3 ON 4 ON 5 ON 6 ON 7 ON CNV NO EXP NO FRL 0 DMI 0 FCI 0 CBQ NO ISET 0 RLI 10 ENTR 0 LTER NO ROUT 13 TOD 0 ON 1 ON 2 ON 3 ON 4 ON 5 ON 6 ON 7 ON CNV NO EXP NO FRL 2 DMI 0 FCI 0 CBQ NO ENTR 1 LTER NO ROUT 10 TOD 0 ON 1 ON 2 ON 3 ON 4 ON 5 ON 6 ON 7 ON CNV NO EXP NO FRL 3 DMI 0 FCI 0 CBQ NO ISET 2
