Intercom Key problem

Opinions?

We are installing some videoconference equipment that requires isdn s/t interface. We were thinking that we would use an NT6D70AA (BRI S/T card) rather than NT6D71AA (BRI U card). Other than not being able to use other U interface devices, can anyone tell me why I wouldn't or would want to do this?

PS - we have an option 11c with a PRI

Procomm Plus

To be honest I would not use this solution. I have been round and round with Nortel with the common equipment card going to sleep. all you have to do is disable and reenable it and it will work but it is aggervating as u know what. I have taken it to etas but the freaking problem is so sporatic that you can never nail it down. We had a topic on this a while back and I dont think we could find one user of this product that didnt have the exact some problem. so its not just me.

firmware upgrade on 3905 phones

I agree with Dixie that the cards go to sleep sporatically. We see it on our 81c and 61c. Even with this problem I would still deploy the cards again. They allow us to not have dedicated circuits to do video conferencing. Our people at both sites know to give us a call to check out the card before they do a call.

Thanks for the replys.

What about the S/T card versus the U card?? Any advantage/disadvantage for either?

Problem programming names in LD 95

If you use a S/T card you have to run 4 wires and limit the distance. A U- interface and a NT1 or NTBA in Europe would be the moderate solution.

Konrad

CTIA adapter for 3904

This is intriguing. I would love to get some more detail on how this would work. My firm currently has 10 dedicated BRIs used for Video conferencing but I would love to get rid of them and carry their traffic over my PRIs in my 11c. How are these configured in the switch. Do you just define DNs for each channel in the BRI?

Thanks,

Shawn

ACD issues

Yes we defined a DID number for each BRI. When you dial the first one the switch connects all of them. The channels are bonded and sent out your existing PRI.
