Rep Power: 4 ![]() | IP connection between CS1000M and Avaya ? A custumber has an CS1000M Halfgroup Rls 3.0 with signallingserver in the Netherlands. They also have an IP-connection to Czech on an Option11Cmini rls 4.0 with ITGtrunk card as an H.323 endpoint for the Signallingserver. Everythings works fine, name and numbers (SL1 and ESN ) goes to both sides. Because the expanding of the company in Czech they want to replace the option11Cmini for an Avaya pabx (company policy). They want to keep the trunk connection between the Netherlands and Czech over IP. How can we connect these 2 over IP ? Has anyone some experience with this. I have no Avaya knowledge. Can the Avaya behave like an H.323 endpoint ? I will post this question also in the Avaya forum. Pennyman.

Location: here there and everywhere Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I'm not an avaya person but if it won't work h323 you may be able to upgrade to rls 4.5 and then use SIP instead. In theory SIP should work with any system. Perhaps some Avaya person will see this and let you know the requirements for IP protocols on that end. Good luck

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Colleagues, I want to warn you about CS1000 SIP - it's not compatible with almost anyone exclude MCS5100. So I think you should stay on H323 and I think it's not a problem to connect to new Avaya via H323. I'm also not an Avaya person, but I've heard that Avaya has a flexible H323 protocol, that can interwork almost with anyone. And CS1000's H323 also not bad. I think CS1000 and Avaya will work together over H323 as well. You shouldn't move to SIP, at least before CS1000 rel.5 will be available But I'm not sure about the names over H323 - you can lose this functionality.

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Thanks for all information. The customer decieded NOT to use the IP-trunk to the Avaya in Czech. Now i route the calls over the PSTN to Czech with a DMI thats put the country and area code in fornt of the DN. Ofcourse no names are available in this situation. The cost for the customer will go up. The telcoprovider also my employer wil be happy Pennyman.

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Follow this link : www.avaya.com/master-usa/en-us/resource/ assets/applicationnotes/acm-succession.pdf. I think it might make you know what the things you should prepare for connecting Avaya - Nortel.
