Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Maybe someone can help steer my thought process 61C Suc 3.0 - I have 1 IPE shelf that is split between 2 superloops 4-1 (8-15) and 20-1 (0-7) . There is little traffic on either of these loops so I want to change the shelf to be all 4-1 and save 20-1 for the Mermail shelf that I am decommisioning and replacing with a new card rack, power supply and backplane. I am trying to come up with the steps that I need to follow - I know at some point I will disconnect the 20-1 superloop cable from the back of the backplane...but what comes first? Do you need to out everything on the cards first? I hope not. Is it a matter of a move data block command? 20-1-0 to 4-1-0? I've hunted through the NTP's and can't come up with the actual order of what I need to do. Can anyone enlighten me? Has anyone done this - I would sure appreciate any advice on this one.... Many Thanks! Wherewolf

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | I think there is no short way of doing it except you will use your speed on typing skills. You need to empty 20-1 before you can remove a superloop. You need to remove a supeloop because 4-1 cannot occupy the segment that is currently occupied by 20-1. Hope less number of digital TN since you cannot delete them all at once. If you want to save the data in 20-1, move data block of 20-1-0 to 4-1-0, for example, is not possible because there is no 4-1-0 card slot yet (given that you will create 4-1-0 inside the same IPE). Work around is to create a dummy superloop and move all the TN of 20-1 there, and again typing skills is required as you will do it one-by-one. And move again to that IPE on slots 0 to 7 once you programmed everything in LD 97 the way you needed.I am afraid to suggest LD 25, since some corruptions happens before.

Move from 20 to dummy remove 20 in software and cabling/hardware reconfigure 4 for all 15 slots Move from dummy to 4 Good Luck! rlc __________________ No matter where you go, there is the Ladies Love Marty Fan Club. :bow2: :bow2: :bow2:

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Thanks to both of you for the info! That brings up another question - by dummy I assume you mean phantom - I thought all phantom TN's could only be 500 sets? About 5 of the cards are Digital. Can I move a Digital TN to a phantom? or can there really be a "dummy" supl that I can define digital sets on?

Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | If you have room in your other superloops to accommodate the number of sets that are built on 20 then, create a spreadsheet for where you move them and just move them to existing TNs elsewhere. By dummy, I meant a dummy/place holder superloop. I had to do this once, but I had plenty of TNs available in other loops to move my stuff off on to. rlc __________________ No matter where you go, there is the Ladies Love Marty Fan Club. :bow2: :bow2: :bow2:

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | I mean dummy as non-Phantom nor non-Virtual Superloops. Even there is no hardware (like NT8D04), you can transfer all your TN on that dummy. Though only 61C, you can still program superloops outside Group 0. That is the dummy I am referring to, or unused superloop inside Group 0.

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Thanks to all for the info. I was able to create a new supl, move the tn's 1-by-1 then change the SUPL 4 segments to include the entire shelf. Then moved them all back - lot's o' typing but it went smoothly. I am however getting this message periodically: TIM622 02:00 19/4/2006 CPU 0 XMI000 20 : The tx_A_D bit value is : 0000 XMI000 20 : and the rx_A_D bit value is : 0001 XMI000 20 : The tx_A_D bit value changed to : 0001 XMI000 20 : XNET will send PWRUP msg to the XPEC port: 0000 Supl 20 used to be 1 full shelf of 20 - 0 and 1/2 shelf of 20 - 1. now it's just the 1 shelf of 20 - 0. SUPL SUPT SLOT XPEC0 XPEC1 004 STD LEFT 05 0 3 03 0 3 012 STD RGHT 02 0 3 04 0 3 020 STD LEFT 01 0 3 -- - - 144 ---- ---- PHANTOM -- - - 156 ---- ---- VIRTUAL -- - - S0 S1 S2 S3 LOC DIS RGTP 01 020 020 020 020 NO 08 02 012 012 012 012 NO 08 03 004 004 004 004 NO 08 04 012 012 012 012 NO 08 05 004 004 004 004 NO 08 I assume that there is still something thats generating the XMI error that I need to change? Any Ideas? Thanks again for the help.... Wherewolf

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Did you remove already the NT8D91 SNET cable from NT8D04 J1 port of SUPL 20 that is going to back of that IPE? What do you have CONT-2 or CONT-4? And did you move the SNET cable of SUPL 4 from S2 to S0 at the rear?

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | The Xnet cable for 20 (-1) was plugged in S0 on the backplane and 4 (1) was in S1. After moving everything to supl dummy 36 and disabling, I unplugged 20 and moved 4 from S1 to S0. I didn't remove the 20 cable from the Xnet card, because I will use it after the MerMail shelf is swapped. Does the Xnet card sense the cable still attached and expect there to be a shelf at the other end? It's just hanging in the back of the column now.... Thanks for your help. Wherewolf
