Location: Missouri Rep Power: 7 ![]() | Do you have an OPS (off-premise line card)? Note that the normal analog MWI analog line cards don't reverse polarity when the far end party hangs up, but with the OPS cards, they will (should) produce supervision indication. Returning dial tone after far-end release is the action that will occur with CLS LDTA.

If you are using an analog Polycom on an normal analog line card, then there is no mechanism (disconnect supervision) to tell the Polycom that the other party has disconnected. You can try returning dial tone but the Polycom has to be able to recognize it. If the Polcyom support battery reversal, then you would have to use an OPS card. The other option is to use the Polycom Soundstation Premier 550D (which emulates an M2616 and thus has disconnect supervision) or the Nortel IP Audio Conference Phone 2033 (which emulates an IP Phone 2001 and thus also has disconnect supervision).

With a standard analog line card, there is no way to signal to the analog phone that the other end of the conversation has disconnected. Think of your home phone. When somebody calls you and they disconnect, you can tell by listening that they have dropped and hangup the phone - or you can wait for the dial tone / howler tone to tell you and then hangup the phone. But that requires you to hang up. No message goes to your phone to tell it to hangup from the network. If you want the phone to hang up by itself, you need disconnect supervison.

Location: Lou, KY Rep Power: 9 ![]() | There is a disconnect button on most Polycom models. What happens if you hit that button after they hang up on the far end? __________________ No matter where you go, there is the Ladies Love Marty Fan Club. :bow2: :bow2: :bow2:
