Exclamation Caller ID

We are finally getting caller id. I have some users that do not want their number to show, but rather the number of their departmental assistant. Is there a way to set up system to send out the caller ID number they want or are we stuck with the actual DN?

Thanks

Are you talking about internally (station to station) or externally to the outside world (dialing out)
Normally outside is controlled by your CLID programming block. By default your PRI will send out your main programmed number (the one programmed as CLID 0).
You have the option to send the main number followed by the DN trail or you can setup addition CLID blocks for each of your departments.

On the station side you will need to reference the caller ID block after the DN. For example, if you were to print a digital phone you would see the digit 0 after the DN of the line keys. If you were to change a key to 2000 01 (where 2000 is the extension and 01 was the clid block) your phone would use CLID block 1's number as a caller ID number.

Post back with more details if you require additional help. I am sure some of the others have done a lot more than me when it comes to CLID as we only send our main number out.

Jes
