Question Giant Speed Call List

Hello everyone who reads me:

I'm quite newbie on Meridian administration, and I have found my very first problem with a customer.
He wants to make an Speed Call List of 2300 members, more or less.

As you know, Meridian SCL are restricted to 1000 numbers each, so this is imposible.

The scenery is as follows: there's a huge list (for about 2300 numbers, as I previously said) from 10001 to 19989 (so, it's not full range). The customer wants that, when typing 10345 on the phone, it automatically calls an external number, as in a SCL.

How can this be done?
I've been thinking in doing 10 SCL, list 1 with members from 10001 to 10999, list 2 with members from 11001 to 11999, and so on. And then, when a "1" is typed, access the list trought the FFC SPCU , but I think this is a very big mistake produced by my ignorance.

Help, please?

You can expand the 999 limit of SCL by using the Group Hunt Feature. These can be used to access speed call lists as well. A short example:

5323 is actually a code that dials entry 323 in List 5
6429 is actually a code that dials entry 429 in List 6

It's all inthe NTP's under Group Hunt

Does it need an special code to be typed to access those list, or a key or something? I think at least a key would be needed, just not to get into conflict with routes and similars...

Let me explain it: Customer has a list for about 2300 numbers, all of them beggining by 1, that reroutes to an external number. For example

Typing 13345 will call 555-45677 (a site in other city)
Typing 13356 will call 554-99346 (a site in another city)
... and so on.

The problem is that SCL has a limit of 1000 members, and every short number should start by 1.

I'm investigating the solution Fletch has suggested (look above this reply), but some other ideas will be welcomed.

Thanks!

One question to pose, are they actually going to use a speed call list that has 2300 codes? Seems to me, it would take more time and energy to sort through a speed call list that huge, to call Joe Smoe at site x.
If these are sites that are tied together via tie lines etc. perhaps a 4 or 5 digit dialing plan using cdp's would work better here than a speed call list that huge. Just my .02

Yeah, but... Have you ever tried to convince a customer of commiting a full remodelation of the company pbx?

Anyway, they are not linked by tie lines. They are small offices with a normal PSTN number assigned, but the want to be called from the central office in an easy method.

Then what about a combo of auto dial keys for more frequently used numbers, then a condensed speed call list? If they have 2616's a few add on modules would help lower that list a little
