He he

Hello,

I am trying to build a Option 11C to retrain myself on this switch. I
have been working for a telecommunications company but all we work on
are the smaller key systems. The last time I went to Nortel training
was back in 1997 and trained on release 23. My memory have faded so
any help from you would be greatly appreciated.

What I have so far is a new Option 11 cabinet, NTDK78AA (Waiting
for delivery), SSC-NTDK20DA with a NTDK81AA daughter board mounted on
it, a NT8D02AB and a NT8D14AH. Would I be able to use the system as I
have it here? Is the SSC card missing anything (software?) or is it
build in? What kind of cable do I need to try and program with? The
book states NTBK 48. Can I make one of these? Will the M series phones
work on this system? Any additional information would be appreciated?
Thanks Tony J

How to Add Malicious Call trace to switchboard

Tony,

The first thing you need to find out is your serial number and softwware level.

The software release will determine what hardware you will need.

It shuld be on a sticker that hopefully some tech put on the cabinet

Quiz

In the M series the M72xx's and M73xx's wont work, they are for the Norstar system.

I think its stuffed

Thankyou for the response. The SSC card was purchased separately. Would I be able to tell by looking at the card if it has the software on it? The M series phone I was thinking about were the M3902-M3905. But I believe the software has to be release 24 or greater.

Option 11C Questions

If you get the software with it , it will be on a small card that plugs into the main CPU, it will tell you what Rls and what Packages it has.

How do I change calls being diverted to console?

You can´t find Rls of software just Looking to the card.
The newest´s SSC don´t use a card, they use memories.
I think you´re right when you said the M39xx just work with rls 24 or grater.
You will need the dongle ID and a keycode for this ID for your CPU works well. Some SCC bacame programed (software inserted) from Nortel.
Remember the suggestions of mrmike.

Priority Levels

Thanks for the reply. The SSC card has a daughter board mounted on it. Buy looking at my Nortel books this daughter board ids the software card the other two slots on the SSC card are for Fibre exp cards. The number on this daughter board is NTDK81AA. are you familar with this number? The security device is also installed. Just in case when I fire this switch up is is possible to default the switch to default passcodes?

Thanks

Most 11s when purchased are 'pre-programed' with the basics, if you fire it up and run an ISS and PKG in LD 22 it should provide you with some useful info, then you can go through the loads ie, CDB, CFN, RDB and see what you got.

Star Plus

Hello,

How can I log on the switch using a laptop? I tried procom and hyper terminal with no luck. I'm using a NTBK48AA with a modem eliminator. This has a RS232 so I pluged it into the serial port. But when setting up procom or hyper all I see are com port settings to connect to.

Thanks for the info
