Question Caller ID

I have a clienet that wants to be able to identify an external caller at every extension on his Meridian system. I programmed a button on each phone for manual operation, but he wants to see it automatically. I understand that there's an external Nortel box that either accomplishes this and/or stores the Caller ID information. Can anyone out there help me?

Do they have or want to use ISDN/PRI T1s? The Dchannel would then provide this detail to all digital sets. For analog set you require a software package, and hardware in the PBX, as well as, CLID enabled telephone sets.

The switch only has Centrex lines & CLID is enabled on the tel sets (M7320). Do you know what software & hardware is required?

What kind of PBX are you running and what software release are you on?

You must have a Norstar Key System not a PBX....I beleive there is another group here for that type of Question.

M7XXX series phones for the Norstar were Manufacture Discontinued in January 2003.

Norstar system require Call Line Information Trunks. Standard Loop trunk cartridges will not provide caller id. Also, all systems below release 6 will only allow caller id to display automatically at the defined CLID station (Line Settings in system programming). All other users will need to use Feature 801 I believe.
