Pulling IP Traffic Information

Hello all,

Can anyone tell me how I can grab call traffic info from our IP phone system.

I have an option 11c system with I2004 IP phones and I just got a request to try and grab traffic data or phone usage from the system for a project that my group is working on. Does anyone know I can get this information?

Thanks

Are you looking for set to set traffic or call details? Do you have OTM?

Either set to set or call details, Preferrably both so I can find out which one they actually need since they aren't sure either.

Unfortunately we don't have OTM. We are still using a dumb terminal running succession.

Are you looking at bandwidth usage on the IP ports to your media cards? If so, my suggestion is to get MRTG to monitor the Ethernet switch ports facing the ITG cards.

I just got more infor from the user. Here is specifically what they are looking for:

1) calling phone number
2) called phone number
3) codec in use
4) duration of the call
5) start time of the call
6) (if possible) volume of IP traffic generated (Erlangs?? kbps?)

Is there a way that I can grab this infor from our IP phone system?

Pull out the NTPs and read up on "Call Detail Recording".

1, 2, 4 and 5 could come from CDR. (Call Detail Records)

3 you can figure out based on the CODEC configuration on the SigServer / Media Cards and the Zone tables in the PBX.

6 - if you have all of the above information you get a very rough idea of IP traffic volume with a few simple calculations.
