Meridian mail programming Menu service ?

Out of choice 1 on an existing MS, I want to play an announcement before going to an extension on the PBX.

So I tried to make another MS with RP defined on 1 - 9 and an initial no response and delayed response of CL and the pbx ext and set the revert dn the same. It works fine except for the delay after the announcement is played and the transfer takes place. I imagine this is the no response timer waiting to expire. Any other ideas of how to accomplish this within MerMail ?,,(no symposium )

thanks,
vzt1

You can try this - a bit kludgy but should do what you want.
Create a new mailbox with "Disable message reception" set for "Yes if TAG recorded". Also set Revert if message reception disabled" to Yes.
Make the Revert DN on the mailbox the destination DN you want.

Now for the kludgy part -
The caller will hear the Personal Verification followed by the Temporary Absence Greeting. So you have to record both and you have to record them in such a way that they "flow" together. There will be a slight pause between the Personal Verification and TAG but it's bearable. If you split the message in the right spot the caller won't notice anything.
The revert DN is called as soon as the TAG is finished.

I can't remember whether the caller can dial 0 or not to bypass the greeting. That may or may not be a problem for you.

In your menu make the choce for digit 1 EM to the new mailbox.
