Sch5076 - Warning Templates At Limit!

Here's the issue:

Code:
>LD 20
REQ: CHG
TYPE 500
WARNING, TEMPLATES AT LIMIT!!
SCH5076
TN
The err for SCH5076:
Code:
SCH5076 Warning: Templates are at the limit.
Action: Contact the service representative before proceeding.
Thanks, Nortel -- real informative!

The PBX seems to accept the changes just fine, but I don't like it when the thing yells "WARNING" at me. Would a LD 1 template audit fix this, or am I going to lose some data if I do that?

Thanks,
Arch

You shouldn't lose anything , but do a backup anyway

Cool. Any idea if the audit will resolve this issue?

Yes.

Do an edd followed by ld 1 TWICE followed by another edd.

Do this during low traffic or you are asking for trouble.

Exclamation

Okay, so I'm out of my league when it comes to templates I guess. Here's the scenario:

1. I renumbered the stations. Simple changes to SCR/SCN keys on digitals and the DN field on Analogs. That's when I first saw the Warning above. Nothing bad happened. I ran the template audit in LD 1 and it seemed to clear up the issue.

2. Step two is to update features. Hunt, FDN, CFW, ADL, RDL, MWK, etc. to point to the new DNs from step 1. I noticed that the Warning was back again, and this time it came with an SCH3625 -- (Template exceeds 255, run the audit in LD 1)

So I check the TNs to see if the changes took and it's just a warning -- THE ANALOG STATION TNs WITH THIS ERROR ARE NOW NON-EXISTENT!!!!! I try to print them, they aren't there. I had a backup from when I got done with step 1, so now I'm back to that point and ready to start reassigning the features again.

What do I have to do to ensure that I don't have this problem this time around? Do I run the LD 1 audit again? Is there some sort of problem with the templates? How do I know what template is being used, etc. etc. and what can I check? I've never had to deal with templates before, but the PBX is in a lab environment and I have a valid backup, so I'm ready to try anything at this point.

Thanks,
Arch

Hmm..

How many TN's are on this switch?

I'd run the audit again twice and then do an edd AFTER confirming that all of the problem TN's are still there.

Then do your changes, confirm that all is well, then do an edd followed by LD 1 twice followed by an edd.

Just curious but how many stations are you changing and how are you doing it?

There are 3287 stations in the PBX, and 3287 stations are getting changed. (Full system Digit Expansion to 5-digit DNs)

I'm changing everything via the TTY, using a software program written in-house. (Runs off of a database, rather than a script so it's more effective at logging erros -- thank god!)

I'm planning on running the LD 1 audit again, but what exactly does that do?

Are you thinking that maybe I should make the program stop changes every so often and run an EDD, LD 1 twice and another EDD? Maybe after every 100 stations or so?

Again, I've never had this problem and I've probably done about 30 of these in the past two years for various customers.
