Question Moving OPT 11C

Hello All - we closed an office with a working Opt 11C. It has been in storage for quite awhile. We are wanting to install at another location - now can get the switch to power up - but then is absolutely nothing. We noticed there is not a PCMCIA card - is the PCMICA card what we need? Thanks in advance for any ideas and or suggestions!!

The PCMCIA card is used for loading software or archiving the database. Have you watched the boot up sequence? Does it seem to be in a loop when it boots? Try replacing the SSC. The system data resides on the software daughterboard. I had an Option 11C that was down and booting in a loop. I replaced the SSC but still the same. I had to have Nortel dial in. They erased the files off the Z drive and restored them to the C drive. System came up. They went into DBUG to accomplish this.

If you're getting nothing at all make sure you're on a TTY port that is configured / labeled correctly. If it has been sitting around for awhle they can be a little pissy - if there are any line / trunk cards in it ya might wanna pull them out and see if you can get anything out of it with just the SSC installed.

I recently did a CS1000 install where the TTY cables were labeled incorrectly, rather embarassing with the customers telephony 'engineer' standing there.
