Strange static on SL1 NT

I have a customer that has an NT and has strange static issues when dialing. Dialing voice mail or external trunk calls results in periodic static when pressing dial pad keys. Only digital sets. 2500 sets are fine. I have tested TDS and CONF loops and they test good. No set pattern for which digits give the distorted static. It appears to be system wide. There are 3 cabinets on site. No odd power monitor errors. I have been working on Nortel since 1979 and haven't seen this odd scenario. 1200 extensions. Any ideas besides the obvious..upgrade. Not in the budget this year. I have done LD 80 trac 0 XXX X XX X DEV and can't pinpoint it to a specific loop. TDS or conf pack.

I serviced an NT once with system wide static and discovered the rectifier was the culprit. Maybe check your power converter packs as well.

Check your system grounds. Odd static problems can be traced to loose grounds.

Found 6 loose power leads on the TBC connectors and 2 loose grounds. System had been installed for over 10 years and no one had checked them.
