Don't confuse physical TN's -- card slots -- with ISM's -- software licences. You do need one of each to make a phone work, but you do not need to have a 1 to 1 corelation for anything else. Only way to find what numbers are assigned to you is via your carrier. The switch does not care about the exchange -- 202 or 203. To assign a number out of the 203 exchange simply put that number on a phone. Good luck. __________________ Dogs rollover Phones hunt

For your own sanity, you should push really hard to get on a Nortel course or some sort of formal training to help you understand the relations and interactions taking place from when the call arrives from the carrier, to the point when the call is disconnected - get the big picture, and the NTP's will make more sense. You don't need a degree in telecommunications, just get an understanding. If I was in your shoes I would also make a big fuss about getting the maintenance and administration guide for your system. Start by learning how to work with incoming digit translation (IDC), ACD-DN's / CDN's, physical TN's and phantom TN's and basic administration of your ?Call Pilot voice mail (if you have voice mail). Let your vendor assist you and take responsibility for the advanced system admin for now (trunks, data blocks, ESN's and all that). I know that they will charge you for their services, but it will increase your expected life span by many years. Nothing wrong with asking questions and seeking answers, but bear in mind that a small change can have a huge impact. There are many great minds who participate in this forum, people who are always eager to assist, people like Jack, Tim_A, GW, PP, Gei, RLC - and MANY more, in return thogh you must do your bit and read the books Last edited by Kalahary-Harry : 06-02-2008 at 01:39 AM.

Order Pro is an application from Nortel, used to input a system's existing license levels and parameters when a system needs a key code expansion or upgrade. Your new vendor should have it, they will need dial up access and level 2 password (or a similar log on with sufficient access to the required overlays) for the app to run successfully. It is run instead of a terminal application (like Hyperterminal or Procom Plus etc), on the same maintenance port. Order Pro downloads data from a variety of different overlays and stores the info. The collected data is then processed by Order Pro with the expansion or upgrade requirements and submitted to Nortel. A side effect of it is that it poduces 2 files (repdet and repsum) in RTF format. Those files are useful for the end user for auditing purpose, but obviously that is not their design intend. If you get those files, don't post them, just use them internally or in communication between you and your vendor or Nortel. Further above in this post you will find the answers how to print basic info like your current software level etc, but that won't be sufficient to expand your key code. If you have more questions, please search the forum for similar questions (often you will find the answer there), else, start a new post.
