Activity Code Question

Hmmmm... I've never tried changing the frequency, I know certain things will change the cadence which will wreck havoc with fax machines.

Are you using any type of distinctive ring cadence by route?

If you connect a regular single line phone to the line and verified that it rings in a manner normal for you geographic area? (2 on 4 off here I think) Have you tried the fax on another line or one external from the PBX?

The posibility exists that if all is well with the fax machine and the line appears to ring 'normally' that there may be somthing wrong with the port that is affecting the amount of voltage delivered during the ring cycle, I have seen this happen on channel banks that will give a 'weak' ring that appears normal under certain situations but causes issues with the PBX / FAX machines.

From what I can tell there is much that can be changed about the analog ring with the exception of the cadence which is usually shorter and will cause more issues with fax machines.

you can change settings by dip switches on the ring gen card (NT6d42)

On option 11 there are dip's also
