I am trying to get a quote for an upgrade with a new vendor and nortel is asking for a OPI file. What is it and how do I get this information?

OrderPro Image... Nortel has an upgrade tool that most vendors have called OrderPro (Not to be confused with Avotus) it audits the switch and creates an OPI file.

How is the tool used. Do you connect to the switch via Procomm and launch the tool or do you have to go into PDT?

The tool askes for a modem number and a user / pass then goes to town.

An Order Pro is something that your distributor needs to run prior to conducting an upgrade on your PBX (Release 25 and lower), to take you off the old X11 to the X21 software which we now all know and love.

It is a distributor tool although it is a handy way to retreive a snapshot of a switch, and many engineers use it for that purpose even after going over the X11 / X21 software divide.

Thanks, I found the tool on Nortel website and downloaded it.
