Country:
We recently upgraded to Call Pilot 4.0 and we are trying to edit one of our applications and the file says it is locked by one of our extensions. We have rebooted call pilot but the lock is still on that file making it so we cant save any changes to that file. How do we remove the lock from a file as that current user is not in that file?

When you attempt to open the application, are you prompted with the "Application is locked. If opened..." question? If so, say "yes" and then close the application normally. This will unlock it.

Hope this helps.

This seems to be a common problem for some reason…most people don’t understand that with Application builder updating and exiting Application builder is a two step process. Below is an extraction straight from the NTP’s.

****NTP EXTRACTION****

Saving and closing an application are different processes. When you save an application, Application Builder updates the server, but the application remains locked until you close it.

When you close an application, Application Builder unlocks it so that other administrators can view or maintain it.

****RECOVERY OF LOCKED APPLICATIONS****

To recover an application on the client computer that locked the application

1 Run Application Builder.
Result: Application Builder prompts you to confirm that you want to recover the application.

2 Click Yes.

3 Save the application.
Result: Application Builder transfers the recovered application to the
server.

To recover an application on another client computer

1 Run Application Builder with the mailbox number and password of the administrator who had the application open.

2 Open the application to recover.
Result: The following prompt appears: Application is locked. If opened, it can no longer be recovered from another copy. Do you want to open this application?

3 Click Yes.

4 Close the application.
Result: Application Builder unlocks the application.
