Two different animals... NCOS relates to FRL in the RLB (LD 86) the relationship is for the most part established in LD 87 / NCTL in a very basic setup.

TGAR relates to the TARG on the RDB (LD 16 PRT in LD 21) provided that you have TGAR enabled (LD 86 ESN datablock with TGAR = yes) Basically if TGAR = yes the if the TGAR of the station matches the TARG of the RDB then the call will not complete on that route but will either fail or go to an alternate route that allows that TGAR. With TGAR = NO this is ignored and about the only thing TGAR will affect is your ability to direct trunk select.

I'm going to assume that you're dialing the same number from both stations?

Everything in the CLS looks the same... but it's 6:30am here so I've probably missed a few things.

Yup, I dialed my home number both times. Once it rang and the other time it had the weird tone.

Did it actually ring your house or was it ring back while waiting for an intercept RAN?

Are these stations supposed to be allowed to make outbound calls to the public?

If it gave a wierd tone, it is not an NCOS issue. NCOS blocking gives busy signals if access is denied. Can you describe the nature of the tone?

Re: Buried Car, neat

I got to my answering machine.

Neither of these phones (and I have 10 more) should be able to call our or receive calls from outside (they call can right now). I usually find another phone that is restricted the same and copy but that isnt working in this case.

The tone is what you would get if you called a 1-800 number and put in a pin to call long distance, after you enter it you get this dial tone for a few seconds before you get a regular dial tone to make the call. The dial tone sounds like a dial tone with hiccups?

Tammie,

It sounds like the broken dial tone you are hearing is a reorder tone. I don't think you are actually getting out of your system. Try tracking the set that has the broken tone in LD 80 and seed if you actually grab a trunk and send any digits.

Sounds like it's looking for an authcode with what you're describing.
