RCV codes

Hi,

We are going to be moving a SCSS 702T server from an Option 11 (Release 25) to a Option 61C (Release 24). The problem is that there is no way to input the keycodes short of upgrading or reinstalling.

This would mean that the historical data would be purged. Is there a workaround for this?

what worries me about norstar

it depends on what version of Symposium you are currently on, a new keycode has to be purchased (one that matches the Dongle Id of the Option 61C) this keycode is then used on the Symposium Server, (each release has a different routine to change the keycode, routines are available for Release 3, 4 and 4.2), the server should be backed up first and the new keycode entered, a reboot is required to activate.

Auto log on?

This is actually for a SCSS 4.0 server.

How would the keycode be entered if we choose not to upgrade or reinstall?

Thanks,

Title : Keycode Change to Reflect New M1 Serial Number (for Rls. 4)

PRS# : TM04130

Zip File : sccs0017.zip

Author : Angela Ho Oct. 30, 2000

Background:

The keycode is used to configure options and parameters
on the SCCS server. Input to generate the keycode include
M1 Serial Number, Meridian Link Server, Call Center Manager,
Host Enhanced Routing, Host Voice Processing, Script Data
Enhanced API, Realtime Basic Status API, Advance Script
Commands, Broadcast Announcements, Call Detail Reporting,
Maximum Positions, Maximum Active Client Sessions, Network
Control Center and Networking.

Problems / Symptoms:

A new SCCS server installation is required with a new keycode
to just change the M1 serial number (no added feature or
capacity expansion). This is a tedious procedure for sites.
This can happen if the site mistakenly order a keycode with
the M1 serial number that does not match that of the switch.

Systems
Affected :

All SCCS Systems. This utility is only applicable with SCCS
Release 4 (ie. NGEN Release 4)

Solution :

Note that this procedure will only allow a M1 serial number
change with no other feature or option changes. One must
first obtain a new keycode from Manufacturing for the new
M1 serial number.

1. Create the temporary directory 'd:\temp\serial_chg'
on the SCCS server.

2. Put the files : nortel.dll, ser_chg.exe, feature.R4,
nbcfg.dll and nbsopapi.dll in the temporary directory
'd:\temp\serial_chg'.
(Note : These files are unzipped from 'sccs0017.z'.)

3. Run the command d:\temp\serial_chg\ser_chg.exe

4. Enter the following keycode and serial number in the
fields provided and click the "OK" button.
(Note : Both the keycode and serial number are case sensitive.)

You should receive the message, "New Keycode and Serial Number
loaded successfully."

5. Confirm the change in keycode and M1 serial number by selecting
"Start -> Programs -> Symposium Call Center Server -> Feature Report"
Select the 'Features' tab.
The 'Keycode' and 'Serial Number' field should reflect the change.

6. Remove the directory and the files in the directory
'd:\temp\serial_chg'.

7. Reboot the server.

you would have to obtain the files from your support organisation
