It seems to me while attending some Nortel training years ago there was mention of some sort of Call Park issues. We have a user who wants to use the call park feature but we are hesitant in implementing it. I did a search in this forum and did not find any negitives, does anyone know of any known issues implementing the Park feature?

11c on 3.0

Thanks in advance,

Call park is a great feature. I would recommend that you assign a pool of DNs to use for parked calls. You can do this when you set it up. The only problem we have had is people forgetting what DN they parked the call to.

I agree that Call Park is a great feature. Have never had any issues using it other than people forgetting what DN they parked the call at.

Make sure that you configure the call park timer to a resionable time. This will ring back to the phone that parked the call. This is handy in case they do forgot they can get the call back.

Call park, while being a great feature, is not intended for every office scenario. In fact, I stay away from call park, unless you are involved in a 'warehouse' type situation, where most users are not readily at their phones. Another situation would be an office environment where the users are constantly up, fetching files, meeting customers..etc etc.

The reason I find it not meant for everyone and everywhere, is once you park the call, you have to announce (most times over a paging system), that "so and so, you have a call parked on 51". A lot of companies do not want pages all day, throughout the day, as they can be annoying.

Good Luck
