i2050 Lines not showing

I have a bad handset and am curious how it works. I want to take it apart to get a look at the workings of the thing. How do you pry it open????

Take the base off (two philips screws) then under that you will find (4 I think) more for the back. The set should just fall open once you have them out.

Or

the Slag method

take shot gun, shoot phone then pick up pieces to examine

Sorry Bear. Not the telephone base but, the actual handset. The ear piece isn't working and since it is going in the garbage any way, I thought that I would poke around. Just looking for some tips.

Re: ripping up a 2616 handset

I would think a little flat head screwdriver manipulation. That or make it suffer an old whoopsie daisy down a flight or two of stairs.

I just broke one by jumping up and down on top of it... then I handed it to my helper monkey (senior tech) and let him rip it apart... very disappointed by the results.

On a better note... I lost 5 lbs by getting off my a$$

Fun with PBXs.

If you have one of those wider plastic wedges used for pulling apart notebook clamshells, it may work.

PBXNs idea should work as well, just watch the fingers when the screwdriver slips (speaking from experience)

How about a band saw to cut the back off?

Or a dremmel(sp) tool with a cut-off wheel on it (a little bit less messy and easier to handle in an office environment)

I save my cut off wheels for problematic switches. Makes me happy
