We have an Option 11C switch rel 24.24. On this switch is 1 PRI line.

Everything's been running great for almost 3 years until yesterday when people started to complain about getting quick busy's when trying to make a call.

When I look at the status of the PRI in LD 60 I see that I have 6 channels that are either "Busy" or "Idle" the other channels all have "FE MBSY".

See Below:

PRI* TRK LOOP 1 - ENBL

FFMT/LCMT/YALMT: ESF/B8Z/FDL

TRACKING

SERVICE RESTORE: YES

YEL ALM PROCESS: YES

ALARM STATUS : NO ALARM

CH 01 - IDLE DID 3VCE * CH 02 - IDLE DID 3VCE *

CH 03 - BUSY DID 3VCE * CH 04 - IDLE DID 3VCE *

CH 05 - BUSY DID 3VCE * CH 06 - FE MBSY DID 3VCE *

CH 07 - FE MBSY DID 3VCE * CH 08 - FE MBSY DID 3VCE *

CH 09 - FE MBSY DID 3VCE * CH 10 - FE MBSY DID 3VCE *

CH 11 - FE MBSY DID 3VCE * CH 12 - FE MBSY DID 3VCE *

CH 13 - FE MBSY DID 3VCE * CH 14 - FE MBSY DID 3VCE *

CH 15 - FE MBSY DID 3VCE * CH 16 - FE MBSY DID 3VCE *

CH 17 - FE MBSY DID 3VCE * CH 18 - FE MBSY DID 3VCE *

CH 19 - FE MBSY DID 3VCE * CH 20 - FE MBSY DID 3VCE *

CH 21 - FE MBSY DID 3VCE * CH 22 - FE MBSY DID 3VCE *

CH 23 - FE MBSY DID 3VCE * CH 24 - DCH 3

Any ideas what may have happened?

Thank You

Call your carrier and see if they have the channels on their end busied out.

FE MBSY = near end is idle, far end is maintenance busy

If you ENCH 1 6 does that put channel 6 in IDLE or LCKO?

If you drop your DCH and manually disable Loop 1 then ENLL 1 what codes do you get during the restoration of service?

Do you have service messages turned on in LD 96? I had an issue where some of my channels went in to FE MBSY and the telco swore that they could not and were not sending that message to my system. That system, by the way, was also an Option 11C. I ended up turning off the service messages and everything has been fine. With that as the fix we do run the risk of one day not communicating with the telco, properly. But, with no support from them it was impossible to test and to fight. (LD 96, DIS SERV x, X=DCH of Loop 1)

Is your PRI service in your 11c on a TMDI card? If so, I have found that these cards are very susceptible to having problems if physical T1 circuit is disturbed.

If so, you may need to do (in LD 96) a reset or a full download of your TMDI card.

Re: RE:

One of my 11's does this from time to time. I am now in the habit, if dis. the d, the loop, and the TMDI. Wait a minute and bing it all back up. Sometimes they come back in as MBSY, then I just bring up the channels one by one. Without the TMDI step, I would bounce several times with no success. Seems the TMDI's are a little more on the sensitive side than an msdl.

I have had strange things happen before with the TMDIs (in both DTI and PRI modes). I usually have fairly good luck with the following (note I am way out of the office and don't have my cheatnotes with me):

- LD 96
- DIS DCH xx
- LD 60
- DISC x
- ENLC x
- LD 96
- ENL TMDI x FDL (full download seems to work almost every time)

Any comments, Fletch, on TMDI cards?
