Hello all,

would anyone know if "swapping" of TN's is available in an option 11c in any loads?
I am currently performing "swaps" the old way (outing the old TN and re-building with a new TN).
Perhaps someone would know of an "easier technique" to swap TN's in an Option 11c.

Thanks much in advance.

I usually CPY the sets to spare TNs using spare DNs, out the originals, CPY to the freed up TNs with the original DNs.

I think Nortel implemented a set relocation feature for the options at some point, not sure though.

A couple of ideas come to mind --

CAVEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NEVER EVER USE THESE ON AN ACD SET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why not use either the MOV and/or CPY comand?

Don't forget to use use your template audits & edits after using these.

If you are swapping sets, you don't even need a spare TN. Just use the set relocation code (puts the set into limbo), go to the other phone, do the same (using different storage #) then put the first back where the second is then go put the second back where the first was.

I did notice that the 2xxx series sets did not require entering in the codes to bring it back from the temporary space, just plugged them in and it worked.

However, be careful if you loose track. I had to get Nortel to clear up the database in one office where the tech kept losing phones in limbo. Could not figure out how to bring them back on my own and we were running out of numbers.

LD 50 has some commands to undo the havoc than can come from Auto Set Relocate.

When all else fails... reload it... they'll blow out when the system comes around.

I'll have to do some reading, maybe I can start using it again as I gave up on having the local techs doing it. thanks!

At the time, an INI did not fix the problems so I contacted the vendor and they brought in Nortel when they couldn't fix it. (good to have a maintenance contract sometimes)

I've always had to do a full blown reload to get that stuff to spit out.

In regards to moving stations and corruption... I've moved thousands of TNs at a time with the MOV command during large IPE cutovers and have never had a corruption problem.

On the flipside I know people who have moved a few stations with the MOV command corrupted the switch... but they were always old PBXs with old sofware.
