I have some 4 digit DID numbers on Phantom TN's that when you call
8,Nxx-xxxx the call is DFCW to an LD number. I call the LD number and I connect to the person. I dial the 4 digit number in switch and I get all ciurcuits are busy recording. I call 8,nxx-xxxx and I get the same recording. Why is this happening?

Update:

Let me ask this another way. I have a phantom DN on a DID extension that DFCW to an LD number. The DID comes in on a local trunk.
What route sends the DFCW out? Local or LD?

Update to the Update:

Here. Look at the way this call is going out over my phone.
here's my issue, I call a 4 digit DID that is dfcw to an LD number, in house it works. When I dial the 7 or 10 digit DID it fails.
(I have added the xxxx on the called from number)

I call the LD number and I connect to the person -
I call 8,nxx-xxxx and I get the same recording. -

So in the first statement i guess you are using a cell or outside the pbx line?
Second statement are you dialing a 1 after the 8 if it is long distance.

I cannot connect if I dial the 4 digit phantom or if I dial 8,nxx-xxxx.
I can connect if I just dial the DCFW 8,1npa-nxx-xxxx.

so it must be a local number. Do you have more than one home area code in your city? If you do than you need the npa.
