Hi,

Here is the situation.
My customer needs a wireless phone for the supervisor. Some agents are answering calls that come trough a Mini-Carrier-Remote. All agents have an autodial key to reach the supervisor. Since he or she is not always at his or her desk, they need the supervisor to carry a wireless phone.
So I have set-up a Konexx model DWInt , digital to analog converter on a 2008 set, wich goes trough the MCR.

If I connect the M2008 directly on the TN, it works fine.
If I connect it on the out portion of the converter, on the digital jack, it works OK.
On the analog jack of the out portion of the converter, I get only a high pitch tone for about 10 seconds, on and off.

If I program a M2008 in the local Option 11C, using the same digital to analog converter, and the same telephone, everyting works fine. Analog and digital.

Any suggestion would be welcomed

Special Upgrade offer to RLS 4 continued.

Dont know what rls you got....

Analog Terminal Adapter (ATA)
The Analog Terminal Adapter (ATA) lets you connect an analog device such
as a fax machine or modem to your telephone. You can have simultaneous use
of the telephone and the analog device. The ATA is available for the M3902,
M3903, M3904 and the M3905 models.

Dont you have an analog port where you can connect your wireles set ?

Certification

This is the reason of the converter. There is no analog card in the system.
I think the problem is with the mini-carrier, because if I connect the adapter on the other Option 11C, it works fine.
Both systems are Succession Rls. 3.00

I have been able to get dial-tone ( analog ) once only, connected trough the MCR. After that, the only thing I get is a high pitch tone, on and off for ten seconds.

Not to be synical or a anything... I normally find the ATA's to be very expensive... 200-400 dollars depending on the brand. I normally can get an Analog Message Waiting card for the same price. Wouldn't make since to install a whole card to your MCR shelf giving you 16 ports instead of one (from the ATA)?

Keep in mind that only digital phone stay up during Emergency Standby Mode.

Just a wild gues but is there a MWI burning on the digital set ?
So yes, clear it by calling Mailbox.
Check then the analog set again.

BUG4231 FYI

The customer was already using this Konexx adapter on the local Option 11C, and he wanted to use it on the MCR. I know it's not the best solution, but I was planning on trying to sell him the idea of a wireless 2616.
If not, or if I can't get it to work, yes he should consider the cost of an analog card. As you say, he could use it for other analog phones, fax, modems or anything else.

Unfortunately, no there is no message waiting lamp activated on the M2008. But it is worth to give it a try. I should go there later this week, and I'll try activating and de-activating the lamp, and see what happens.
If there is any change, I'll post back.

Thank you for your ideas

I was on the customer's site today, so I've tried to activate the message waiting lamp and deactivate it, but I still get the same condition. I've trid a different TN, did a out and a in, but it still doen't work. I have talked to the customer about an analog card or a wireless 2616, and he will get back to me with an answer next week.

Thanks anyways for your suggestions.

The 2616CT's are going to be hard to find. Especially the batteries. I like using panasonics 5.8 GHz on analog ports. They are very nice phones. There are some 2616 cloned phones out there too that are wireless. Check twacomm.com for 2616 cordless.
