Rep Power: 4 ![]() | So I see the DSC entry for 11 ---it will send calls to RLI22, but I don't see the DSC for 10? If they should all go the same place (route 5) then you should be able to add a new CDP entry: TYPE dsc DSC DSC 10 FLEN 0 DSP LSC RLI 22 The one thing that concerns me is that it looks from the traces like the Meridian was trying to route calls, but didn't have any digits to send. Something other than a DSC must be set up for 10 or else you did not include 10 in the post?

Location: Jamestown N.Y. Rep Power: 4 ![]() | We also have a CDP setup as 10, don't know how it wasn't showing in the above. DSC 10 FLEN 0 DSP LSC RLI 22 DSC 11 FLEN 0 DSP LSC RLI 22 DSC 14 FLEN 0 DSP LSC RLI 22 DSC 17 FLEN 0 DSP LSC RLI 22 DSC 32 FLEN 0 DSP LSC RLI 23 DSC 5 FLEN 0 DSP LSC RLI 80 DSC 7 FLEN 0 DSP LSC RLI 22 DSC 8 FLEN 0 DSP LSC RLI 81 Changed to FLEN 4: DSC 10 FLEN 4 DSP LSC RLI 22 Still same result. Strange when I dial the acod then 101010101070 ,,, it will complete the call. Like something stripping 8 digits before passing the 1070 extension

Location: Jamestown N.Y. Rep Power: 4 ![]() | We were just recently told from Nortel, that the problem is the ESS 5 protocol. When checking with the Cisco engineers on this they say no way. Cisco says they don't route with that protocol. Does anybody know about the ESS 5 or any of the other PRI protocols?

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | I just tried to 'wade through' the full post so I hope I didn't miss something important and I'm sure someone will correct this if inaccurate, but- If I understand the Meridians correctly the display you see using MSGO/MSGI may or may not be the actual interswitch conversation. It is the Meridian software talking to the Meridian hardware. To see the true total picture you need to have an independent monitoring device on the actual switch output to see if anything is being stripped.

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | White is right about the MSGI and MSGO comments, but most places can't afford a T-Berd or protocol analyzer, so it is often the best you can do. As for the 5ESS vs DMS, both the Meridian and most pieces of Cisco Gear will allow you to configure either setting. Maybe it is worth changing them both just to try and prove that the protocol is NOT the issue. (Doesn't make sense to me, but I guess if you don't have anything else to go on it is worth a shot.) In Cisco gear you go to the configuration and do an isdn switch-type primary-5ess or isdn switch-type primary dms-100. Ask whoever takes care of your cisco gear for a printout of the running configuration and I can almost gaurantee you will see one of these commands in there. Tell them to try substituting the other one when you change, bounce both it and the Nortel end, and maybe we can see what will happen. bigbadbillyc
