We restarted our PBX today and had many boot up errors regarding LOOP 30/31. None of my loops or IPE shelfs came up on their own. I had to manually enll all loops and enxp all controllers.

The slot for 30/31 in the CE shelf is empty, however we do have a supl card in 28/29.

I checked CEQU and SUPL and 30 is not referenced.

This system has been up and running since, however, I am still baffled about the loop 30/31.

RE:

If memory serves me right you did some EPE to IPE work not long ago... were loops 30 / 31 ever valid loops in the history of the PBX?

A superloop takes up 4 standard EPE loops. Superloop 28 would cover loops 28 through 31.

Loop 30/31 were never PRI or PE TERM Loops in the past.

Super Loop 28 has been around for some time and I understand this covers four normal term loops 28/29/30/31, however I am unsure why the system would be complaining about Loop 30/31 when it is not configured and there is nothing in it's CE slot. Would a problem with the SUPL card in LOOP 28 cause this?

Thanks for your replies.

I noticed today that CORE0 had AC NET LOOP 28. I am unsure if this is related. I am going to research more.

Since superloop 28 takes the addressing for loops 28 through 31 then I would say the errors we coming from something related to that superloop.

Big Clue. Leads to a very important question.

Is this an AC or DC 61C?

We did a lot of testing today during the lunch hour. We did not have any of the odd issues with BERR errors on this restart which I am greatful for. We still have the problem with half our network equipment not coming up. All network loops on Shelf 1 came up fine (Loop 16-31). However, only the IGS, Per Sig, and TTYs on shelf 0 came up. All other loops remained disabled. I had to manually enable all loops on this shelf. During start up it seemed as if Supl 12 failed bringing it's controllers online. Failed firmware download according to the errors. We also had people state that they could not answer calls on the shelf. They would received dead air.

I did the following troubleshooting. I downed Loop 28, two shelfs. Took the controllers from that loop and installed to Loop 12 (after taking down of course). I then turned on the shelfs and everything enabled on it's own. I then downed the shelf and started troubleshooting with mixed/matched XPEC controllers and it appears I may have a bad controller causing the loop not to auto enable. I have isolated one controller that I know is bad and will be ordering a replacement. I am thinking this may be what is causing Net shelf 0 (0-12) from coming up on it's own on a restart.

I pasted my capture from the restart. Do see anything else that may point out why equipment in Net shelf 0 did not come up?
