I thought I did this a long time ago, but to be sure, is there a way to have a distinctive ring between internal and external callers?

Is it something in th cdb (IDEF)
Thanks

pbxn, you will turn distinctive ringing on in the route (LD 16 - DRNG=Yes). If turning distinctive ringing on causes issues with fax machines answering, you may need to make a change in the distinctive cadence in LD 56 at the DCAD prompt-- change from default of 2 to 4.

Is this further enabled at the set level or is this an all or nothing shot? What would the set user expect to here on a 2616 set, for example?

At the set level, at the DNRI prompt you can select a distinctive number ringing index for incoming calls from 0-4. The indexes NDR1-4 determine ring cadences which are set in LD 56.

The number of CFNA ring cycles for distinctive ring are determined in the Customer Data Block (LD 15) at the DFN0, DFN1, or DFN2 prompt, and for the phone are based on what is programmed in LD 11 at the RCO prompt 0, 1 or 2.

I know this is somewhat vague....but hopefully helps.

So, it is not an all or nothing shot. It can be limited to certain offices. That is what I needed to know.

Thanks!
