Hello - has any of you wonderufl experts had experience with the Nortel Wireless Lan yet? I have a Customer who has the following:
1. Succession 4.0 system.
2. Succession Media Card/ No Signaling Server
3. Wireless 2245 Telephony Mgr
4. Wireless 2270 Data Security Switch
5. 2230 Access Points
6. 2210 Wireless Telephones

Customeris a Gov facility- Wireless located in a Courthouse, you know the old-fashioned kind, with big concrete wall, pillars, all kinds of blockage. The Wireless is working fine, except users now experiencing "Echoing" on the receiving end of calls, internal and external. We don't think it's a Bandwidth issue, and was wondering if any of you could lead me in the right direction before I open the "TICKET".
Thanks much!

Are you running the latest firmware (97.039) in the 2210?

I will check on the firmware release. With Nortel, you never know.
Thanks for that suggestion.

Check the software version on all the devices, cards etc. The 2210/2211 and the Nortel/Airespace now Cisco wireless work very well together.

I have checked the latest firmware on our 2210 phones and it is 97.039.
We now have Ticket open with our Support team, they'll probably send us to Nortel. Thanks. again.

...or are you just happy to see me?

Gwebster- Cisco has bought Airespace( check their website) and the people at Nortel need to pull their head out of the ground about it. Nortel had a great wireless partner with equipment that actually worked and let the evil Cisco buy it out from under them.

I have bought the last 3 Nortel wireless solutions only to have Nortel drop the ball on each of them. Nortel obviously can't make their own so they better find a partner they can stay with for over a couple of years.

jtkjk1,
http://newsroom.cisco.com/dlls/2005/corp_011205.html
"The acquisition is subject to various standard closing conditions, including approval under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act, and is expected to close in the third quarter of Cisco's fiscal year 2005 ending April 30, 2005." You will not find an indication on either Cisco or Airespace's website that the deal has closed.

Without disclosing what is not yet public knowledge, all that I can say is that our head is definitely out of the ground.

RE:

The Cisco logo on the Airespace site says it all. We all know the legal BS you quoted means nothing.

The quote gwebster quoted was from Cisco's site. There are laws companies must abide by when merging. These are not Nortel's words.

Also, Nortel has a legal contract for support for sometime regardless of who owns Airespace.

When you see the announcement, you will see the progress Nortel has made, as well as the proposed investment protection.
