Meridian Mail

I see in the NTP, that the distance limit for a direct connect to the mail terminal is 50 ft, and anything over that should use a LDM. My question to any of you "beyond the recommended limits" people out there, what is the furthest you have hooked up a direct connect for the mail terminal, and not experienced any problems? I currently have 1 running approx 75 feet from the mail, with no issues. Yes, I'm thinking of extending that, should it possible without the modem.

Thanks

Have one that runs almost 200 feet (on a separate floor from mail) with no trouble.

coehlita, do you have RS232 cables the entire distance, or do you have a Cat5 cable from point A to point B? The distance I was going to attempt is approx 200 feet, and I'm thinking of making a go at it with Cat5 or 6.

vz, I would be unable to run RS232 to the far end, but I'll let ya'll know if the distance run works.

Thanks
